[VIDEO] Port of Shelton Commissioner Dale Elmlund has resigned from his Position 1 seat effective April 22, 2026. In his letter of resignation, Elmlund explained, “Due to family needs, I will be permanently relocating out of state.” He also expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve “constituents, alongside the commission and employees of the Port of Shelton.”

The Port Commission officially accepted Elmlund’s resignation during their Tuesday meeting. The Commission also heard from the Port’s Attorney, Skip Houser, on the process to appoint some one to fill the remainder of Elmlund’s term on the Port Commission with expires December 31, 2027.

The Port Commission has 90 days to make an appointment and is holding a special meeting at 2 PM Tuesday, April 28, 2026 to begin the process and start accepting letters of interest from Port residents. Information on the process will be released after that meeting.
