Wins for SHS & NM Soccer; Losses for SHS & NM Baseball
The Shelton boys’ soccer team beat W.F. West Tuesday 1 to 0. Details on the match were not available. The Highclimbers are now 3-8-and-1 on the season, 3-and-5 in the Evergreen Conference. Shelton plays at Centralia on Friday.
The North Mason boys’ soccer team got by Kingston Tuesday 5 to 4. Diego Ramos was credited with the Bulldogs’ first goal in the 22nd minute. Keenan Bartosovsky put NM up 2 to 1 two minutes later. The boys from Belfair were up 3 to 2 just before halftime on Antonio Gaspar Gonzales’ headers goal. North Mason went up 4 to 2 early in the second half on Diego Ramos’ second goal in the 47th minute. And Ramos scored the winning goal in the last two minutes of the match for the hat-trick. The Bulldogs improved to 4-8-and-1 on the season, 3-and-8 in the Olympic League. NM hosts North Kitsap on Friday.
The Shelton baseball team was held to one hit and lost at W.F. West Tuesday 11 to 1 in the six innings. Silas Hoff had the Highclimbers’ only hit and Carl Turnbow scored the ‘Climbers’ run as Shelton drew six walks in the game but couldn’t bring those baserunners home. The Highclimbers now have a 9-and-7 overall record, 4-and-7 in the Evergreen Conference. The Highclimbers and the Bearcats play again Wednesday, this time in Shelton and on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.
The North Mason baseball team lost to Bainbridge Tuesday 6 to 1. Kingston Serebryakov batted in the Bulldogs’ only run. NM had five hits in the loss with Reid Shumaker going 2 for 3. Serebryakov, Calvin Rice, and Joshua Haddenham had the other hits for the boys from Belfair. North Mason now has a 7-and-8 overall record, 4-and-7 in the Olympic League. The Bulldogs play at Bainbridge on Thursday.
