SHS Track & Field Results; Losses for SHS Softball & Baseball, MMK Baseball

In a Evergreen Conference meet at Highclimber Stadium Wednesday, the Shelton boys’ track and field team beat Black Hills in team scoring 100 to 50 but lost to W.F. West 113 to 51. On the girls’ side, the Lady Highclimbers lost to Black Hills 79 to 71 and fell to W.F. West 88 to 69.
Top finishers from Shelton:
Claire Warnock won the girls’ 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles.
Jadyn Smith won the girls’ 100 meters and was 2nd in the 200 meters.
Silas Baker won the boys’ javelin and was 3rd in the long jump.
Cali Ronald was 2nd in the girls’ 300-meter hurdles.
Justice Bloomfield finished 2nd inthe bosy 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles.
Waylon Ogg took 2nd in the boys’ 200 meters.
Trayson Bartholonew was 2nd in the boys’ 400 meters, 800 meters, and high jump with a personal best 5′ 4″.
Noa Tuitea finished 2nd in the boys’ shot put with a personal best 41′ 8.25″ and was 3rd in the discus.
Katelyn Sartori placed 2nd in the girls’ long jump and 3rd in the high jump.
Madison Lohmeyer took 3rd in both the girls’ 800 meters and 1600 meters.
Fletcher Henry was 3rd in the boys’ shot put.
This weekend is the 66th Annual Shelton Invitational.


The Shelton fastpitch softball team came up a run short of W.F. West Wednesday, falling 4 to 3. The Highclimbers scored a run in the first inning while the Bearcats tied the game at 1-1 in the third before scoring three runs in the sixth. The ‘Climbers got two in the seventh inning but left the tying and go-ahead runs on base.
Abby Fauula led Shelton at the plate going 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Cassandra Tyler batted in a run. Liv Rasmussen was 2 for 3. Hailey Schuffenhauer was 1 for 2 with a triple and walked twice.
The Highclimbers couldn’t counter another terrific performance by Chehalis pitcher Taylor Tobin who struck out 12 in seven innings.
Shelton now has an 8-and-8 overall record, 4-and-7 in the Evergreen Conference. The Highclimbers host Centralia Friday on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.

The fastpitch team's booster club is doing a "red out" for Friday's game and asking fans attending to wear red shirts and anything else red. 

The Shelton baseball team was shutout by W.F. West Wednesday 10 to 0 in five innings. The Bearcats held the Highclimbers to two hits: a double by Ryan Brady and a single by Daniel Crossan.

Shelton now has a 9-and-8 overall record, 4-and-8 in the Evergreen Conference. The Highclimbers play at Olympic on Friday.


The Mary M. Knight baseball team lost to Elma JV 29 to 1 in five innings on Wednesday. Jude Severson’s ground out in the fourth inning scored Harley Garcia for the Owls’ run. MMK was held to two hits: a double by Joe Seymour and a single by Garcia. Mary M. Knight hosts Wahkiakum on Thursday.
