MMK District Track Results; Losses for MMK Baseball, NM Softball & Baseball
The Mary M. Knight boys’ track and field team participated in the Class 1B/2B/1A District 4 Meet at Hoquiam High School on Thursday.
The Owls’ Ryder Lake finished 2nd in the boys’ 400 meters with at season beast time of 57.88a seconds. and was 3rd in the 800 meters.
Gabe Buck took 4th in both the boys’ 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles.
Noland Baughman was 7th in the boys’ 400 meters with a personal best time of 1:27.19a.
MMK will head to a similar District 4 Meet at Mossyrock on Tuesday.
The Mary M. Knight baseball team lost to Wahkiakum Thursday 23 to 1 in five innings. The Owls’ run came in the third inning with two out: Joe Seymour who reached on a fielder’s choice, advanced to second base on a balk and then stole third before Deakyn Bullington reached on an error which allow Seymour to score. MMK drops to 0-10-and-1 on the season. Mary M. Knight plays at Lake Quinault next Wednesday and wraps up the season at Wishkah Valley on Friday, May 8th.
The North Mason fastpitch softball team lost to Olympic Thursday 5 to 1. Zoey Holdorf batted in Taylor Madison for the Bulldogs’ run in the bottom of the seventh. Madison was 2 for 3 at the plate with a triple. NM pitchers Fiona Youngberg and Addyson Roy combined to strike out 12 Trojans in the loss. North Mason now has 10-and-8 overall record, 6-and-6 in the Olympic League. The girls from Belfair host Orting on Saturday.
The North Mason baseball team lost at Bainbridge 14 to 4 in five innings on Thursday. The Bulldogs were led in the loss by Reid Shumaker who was 2 for 3 at the plate with two RBI. Danner Jones was 1 for 1, also batting in two runs for NM. Jaxon Dowding and Nolan Shumaker had a hit a piece for the boys from Belfair. North Mason is now 7-and-9 on the season, 4-and-8 in the Olympic League. The Bulldogs host Fife on Saturday.
