Wins for SHS Softball, Baseball & Soccer; Loss for NM Soccer
The Shelton fastpitch softball team swept the season series with Centralia Friday with an 8 to 1 win over the Tigers.

The Highclimbers scored their runs in first, second, third and fourth innings with Centralia getting their run in the fifth inning.
The ‘Climbers used solid pitching, excellent defense and good base running to take the third game of the season over Centralia.
Jonni Gouley pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run on four hits with no walks and one strikeout. Gouley also led Shelton at the plate going 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI.
Abby Fauula was 2 for 3 with an RBI.
Kaylee Rix 1 for 3 and had two RBI.
Hailey Schuffenhauer was 1 for 3 and batted in a run.
Emi McFarland and Makayla Lee each hit doubles.
Lexi Rowland, Cassandra Tyler, and Liv Rasmussen each had a hit for the Highclimbers.
Shelton improved to 9-and-8 on the season, 5-and-7 in the Evergreen Conference. The Highclimbers host Black Hills Monday on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.
The Shelton baseball team picked up a non-conference win Friday beating Olympic 7 to 2 on the road. The Highclimbers’ Kingston Cahoon pitched six innings allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Carl Turnbow closed out the game, pitching the seventh inning with two walks and a strikeout.
At the plate, Drew Helser was 2 for 3 with two RBI. Zaine Harding also batted in two runs. Turnbow, Silas Hoff, Cam Winans, Jacob Jacoby, Daniel Crossan, and Mason Ehler each had a hit for the ‘Climbers.
Shelton improved its overall record to 10-and-8. The Highclimbers return to Evergreen Conference play Monday with the first of three conference games: Black Hills on Monday and Tuesday, and Tumwater on Thursday. MasonWebTV Powered by HCC will broadcast the games on Tuesday and Thursday.
The Shelton boys’ soccer team slipped by Centralia on Friday 3 to 2. The Highclimbers first goal game in the 10th minute. The Tigers tied the match at 1-1 five minutes later and went up 2 to 1 in the 27th minute. The ‘Climbers then tied it back up in the final minute of the first half. The second half stayed 2-2 until the 69th minute when Shelton scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal. The Highclimbers improved to 4-8-and-1 on the season, 4-and-5 in the Evergreen Conference. Shelton wraps up the regular season Tuesday at Black Hills.
The North Mason boys’ soccer team was shutout by North Kitsap Friday 2 to 0. The Bulldogs are now 4-9-and-1 on the season, 3-and-9 in the Olympic League. NM plays at Olympic on Monday.
