Candidate filing week got underway Monday with a flurry of people signing up to run for offices ranging from Precinct Officers to Congress; from PUD Commissioner to County Commissioner.
The following list is who has filed as of 8 PM Monday, May 4th
The race that has garnered the most interest on Monday, with five officially filing their Declaration of Candidacy, was Mason County Commissioner District 3 – the seat currently held by Sharon Trask who is not seeking re-election.
Miguel Gutierrez filed as a Labor Democrat.
Daniel Cameron filed as a Republican.
Karen (Schade) Sullivan filed as a Republican.
George Blush filed as a Republican.
Lovejoy Schaefer filed as an Independent.
Incumbent Republican Steve Duenkel and Democrat Tamra “Tam” Ingwaldson filed for Mason County Auditor.
Republican Tammy Clark and incumbent Republican Charles G. Rhodes filed for Mason County Clerk.
Ryan Spurling (running as a Republican) filed to remain Mason County Sheriff.
Brittany A. Pearson (running as a Democrat) filed to retain her seat as Mason County Treasurer.
For Mason PUD 3 Commissioner District 3, Randy Neatherlin filed for the non-partisan seat currently held by Tom Farmer.
Ronald S. Gold filed to remain Mason County PUD No. 1 Commissioner District 3.
George Alan Steele filed to retain his seat as Mason County District Court Judge.
In the 35th Legislative District, incumbent Republican Drew MacEwen and Democrat Carolina Mejia filed for State Senator.
Incumbent Republican Dan Griffey and Democrat Jim Pierson filed for 35th Legislative District State Representative Pos. 1.
Incumbent Republican Travis Couture and Democrat Maria Littlesun filed for 35th Legislative District State Representative Pos. 2.
And for Congressional District 6 U.S. Representative Independent Brian P. O’Gorman file for the seat currently held by Emily Randall.
