Wins for SHS softball & Baseball, NM Soccer
The Shelton fastpitch softball team shut out Black Hills 4 to 0 Monday to take the season series with the Wolves two games to one.

The Highclimbers recognized their seniors on the team prior to holding BH to four hits behind the pitching of Jonni Gouley (pictured right) who went seven innings, walking two and striking out five. Gouley also led the ‘Climbers at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a double. Makayla Lee hit a double and batted in a run. Abby Fauula hit a triple and then scored on a throwing error. Kaylee Rix and Lexi Rowland had an RBI each. And Hailey Schuffenhauer hit a double.
Shelton improved to 10-and-8 on the season, 6-and-7 in the Evergreen Conference, sitting in fourth place in the standings with two games left: against Aberdeen Wednesday on MasonWebTV and at Tumwater Friday.
The Shelton baseball team shut out Black Hills on Monday 5 to 0. Highclimber pitcher Daniel Crossan went the distance, allowing five hits with no walks and 12 strikeouts in seven innings. Shelton had seven hits, led by Jacob Jacoby who was 2 for 4 with two RBI. Easton Wagner was also 2 for 4 at the plate. Zaine Harding was 2 for 3. Cam Winans hit a double. Silas Hoff and Crossan batted in a run each.
Shelton is now 11-and-8 on the season, 5-and-8 in the Evergreen Conference, locked into fourth place in the standings with two home games left in the regular season: against Black Hills Tuesday and Tumwater Thursday, both on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.
The North Mason boys’ soccer team slipped by Olympic on Monday 1 to 0. This game came down to a shootout which the Bulldogs won four shots to three. NM is now 5-9-and-1 on the season, 4-and-9 in the Olympic League. The boys from Belfair wrap up the regular season Tuesday at home against League-leading Bainbridge.
