Travelers who use State Route 302 in Mason County are advised to add extra travel time.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11 through Thursday, Aug. 13, the road will reduce to one lane of alternating travel. The work zone is located between milepost 4.2 and milepost 4.7 near the Pierce County line.
The lane reduction creates a work zone for Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews to complete road repairs.
During the work, travelers can expect stops of up to 15 minutes.
This work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled.
Whenever near work zones please:
- Slow down – drive the posted speeds, they’re there for everyone’s safety.
- Be kind – Workers are out there helping to keep everyone safe and improve the roadways.
- Pay attention – both to workers directing traffic and to fellow travelers.
- Stay calm – expect delays, leave early or take alternate routes if possible.
