Elections officials in the Mason County Auditor’s Office counted additional ballots from last Tuesday’s Primary Election and the latest results show no significant changes in the results with 1500 ballot remaining to count.
It appears that the top two candidates in the race for Mason County Commissioner District No. 3 are Democrat Miguel Gutierrez and Republican George Blush. The latest numbers show 38.97% (1,879 votes) for Gutierrez and 17.32% (835 votes) for Blush.
Others in the race: Daniel Cameron 13.79% (665 votes); Eric Onisko 13.52%(652 votes); Karen (Schade) Sullivan 7.24% (349 votes); Rick Lee with 4.79% (231 votes); and Lovejoy Schaefer 4.25% (205 votes).
There are also six write-ins, seven overvotes (some one who voted for more than one candidate), and 81 undervotes (some one who didn’t vote for any of the seven candidates).
In the race for Mason County Auditor, Democrat Tamra “Tam” Ingwaldson still will face Republican incumbent Steve Duenkel in the General Election. The latest results show 40.66% (7,266 votes) for Ingwaldson and 37.35% (6,674 votes) for Duenkel.
Others in the race: Republican Monika Balmer 14.66% (2,619 votes) and Vivian Glass (who states no party preference) has 7.3% (1,304 votes). There are also seven write-ins (0.05%), five overvotes, and 278 undervotes.
In the race for Mason County Clerk, Republican incumbent Charles Rhodes has 49.23% (7,208 votes) while Republican challenger Tammy Clark 48.25% (7,065 votes). There are also 369 write-ins (2.52%), three overvotes, and 3,508 undervotes. Both candidates will appear on the November ballot.
Incumbent Democrat Brittany Pearson has 53.63% of the vote for Mason County Treasurer to Republican challenger Randy Lewis’ 46.27%. Pearson now has 9,491 votes and Lewis now has 8,188 votes with 17 write-ins (0.1%), two overvotes, and 455 undervotes.
The latest results show Central Mason Fire & EMS’ levy is passing now with 63.59% approval. That’s 4,256 voting “Yes” and 2,437 voting “No”.
The latest Mason County numbers for Mason County Fire District No. 12’s levy shows 71.95% approval. That’s 254 voting “Yes” and 99 voting “No”. When you add in the Grays Harbor County numbers (which did not change:9 yes; 17 no), the approval rate is 69.39%.
North Mason Regional Fire Authority’s levy is still passing in Mason County now with 73.88% approval. That’s 2,402 voting “Yes” and 849 voting “No”. When you add Kitsap County’s latest numbers (72 yes; 35 no), the approval rate drops to 73.67%.
For 35th Legislative District State Senator, incumbent Republican Drew MacEwen tops the race with 51.2% (24,507 votes) while Democratic challenger Carolina Mejia has 48.69% (23,308 votes) with 53 write-ins (0.11%).
In the three-candidate race for 35th Legislative District State Representative Position No. 1, incumbent Republican Dan Griffey will face Democrat Jim Pierson in Novembers. Griffey has 53.41% (25,461 votes). Pierson’s numbers 28.11% (12,399 votes). The third candidate, Democrat Shaena Garberich, now has 18.42% (8,781 votes). There are 28 write-ins (0.06%).
The latest numbers show Incumbent Republican Travis Couture has 53.45% (25,477 votes) while Democrat Maria Littlesun has 46.45% for 35th Legislative District State Representative Position No. 2. There are 47 write-ins (0.1%).
No change for the 6th Congressional District U.S. Representative race, incumbent Democrat Emily Randall still tops the race now with 59.16% (128,704 votes). Republican Teresa Fox remains second now with 25.49% (55,449 votes). It appears Randall and Fox will face off in the General Elections.
The top two candidates in the Supreme Court Justices races remain the same:
Colleen Melody and Scott Edwards for Positions 1.
David Stevens and Jaime Michelle Hawk for Position 3.
Theo Angelis and Dave Larson for Position 5.
Debra Stephens and Todd Bloom for Position 7.
So far, Mason County Elections Officials have counted 18,153 ballots. There are 48,581 registered voters in Mason County. Turnout at this time is 37.37%. Next update is expected at 5:30 PM Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
