Travelers who use State Route 106 in Union are advised to plan extra travel time.
From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17 through Wednesday, Aug. 19, the road will be reduced to one lane south of Main Street between milepost 4.4 and milepost 4.8. The lane closure creates a work zone for Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews to perform shoreline repairs along the roadway.
Travelers can expect one-way alternating traffic controlled by flaggers with stops of up to 15 minutes during work hours.
Whenever near work zones please:
- Slow down – drive the posted speeds, they’re there for your safety.
- Be kind – our workers are out there helping to keep you safe and improve the roadways.
- Pay attention – both to workers directing you and surrounding traffic.
- Stay calm – expect delays, leave early or take alternate routes if possible; no meeting or appointment is worth risking someone’s life.
