A Shelton man faces charges after a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 101 in Jefferson County on Friday.
A Toyota SUV was northbound on 101 about 1:30 PM. Near Duckabush Road, that SUV crossed the centerline and struck a southbound Subaru SUV. Both vehicles ended up blocking the southbound lane of 101. The highway was blocked at milepost 310 for over four hours.
The three occupants in the Subaru, a 74-year-old Brinnon man (driver), a 62-year-old Seattle woman, and a 55-year-old Shelton woman, were flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The driver of the Toyota, a 40-year-old Shelton man, was not injured.
A press memo indicates that drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash and lists “DUI” as the cause.
The 40-year-old Shelton man faces charges of vehicular assault and DUI.
