A man in his 50s was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a three-hour standoff in North Mason County. According to reports, the standoff began after the yet to be identified man allegedly beat up his girlfriend and then began shooting at her when she tried to run away. The woman was not hit by any bullets but did suffer some injuries from the beating that were not life-threatening. Mason County Sheriff’s Deputies ended the stand off about 1:30 PM when they entered the man’s motor home on Tiger Cove Lane and found him inside. The Kitsap Sun reports authorities believed the man had a cache of weapons but found a revolver and a rifle. He was taken into custody without incident. The suspect will be formerly charged Thursday morning when he makes his first appearance in Court. KIRO TV says the man could be charged with attempted murder along with domestic violence assault. There was also a Department of Corrections warrant out for his arrest. More details on this incident will be released after the suspect makes his first court appearance.
