A sex offender convicted in Kitsap County has moved to Shelton. The Mason County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Gregory Allen Howard, Jr. was convicted of Rape of a Child 1st Degree in 1997 and has given his address in Mason County as within the 300 block of South 1st Street in Shelton. This conviction stems from Howard at 14, sexually assaulting and raping a 7-year-old boy. According to court records, Howard threatened to kill the victim with a knife during the attack. He also has multiple convictions of Failure To Register as a Sex Offender and other criminal history including, but not limited to, assault. Howard is no longer on Department of Corrections Supervision and his only requirement is the duty to register as a sex offender. Due to these factors, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office has assessed Gregory Howard as a Level 3 Sex Offender – the highest level – and he is considered at a high risk to re-offend. Gregory Allen Howard, Jr. is a white male, 6-foot-2, 222 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. And again he is now living in the 300 block of South 1st Street in Shelton.
