Shelton City Commission Meets Monday Night
The Shelton City Commission meets Monday night at 6 PM. Top item on the agenda is the complete banning of the sale, use and discharge of fireworks in the City. The City Commissioners will be holding the second reading of the ordinance that bans fireworks Monday night and would like to hear from the public on the issue. The complete fireworks ban would be effective one year from the date of adoption, giving city and fire officials time to educate residents of the restrictions. The ban would not affect the Fourth of July 2013. If adopted, the ordinance would make discharging fireworks in the City a misdemeanor with fines and possible jail time. The other item on the agenda for the City Commission is a report on development standards.
Mason County Commission Meets Tuesday Morning
The Mason County Commission meets Tuesday morning at 9 AM. The County Commission’s draft agenda has staff recognition for Public Works, two news releases and 11 “Action Agenda” items. The news releases relate to new public hours for Mason County Public Health and Human Services, and an opening on the Mason County Housing Authority Board. Among the Action Agenda items are requesting proposals debt collection services for the County Clerk, an appointment to the Planning Advisory Committee, and the cancelation of next Tuesday’s meeting.
The Mason County Commission is also holding briefings Monday beginning at 9 AM. All briefings are open to the public.
Port of Shelton Commission Meets Tuesday Afternoon
The Port of Shelton Commission meets Tuesday afternoon at 2 PM. The agenda for the meeting will be released Monday. The Port Commission meets in their board room at the Port’s Offices, 21 West Sanderson Way. The public is welcome to attend.
MTA Board Meets Tuesday
The Mason County Transportation Authority Board of Directors meets at 5:30 PM Tuesday in Allyn. This meeting is the quarterly joint meeting with the MTA’s Advisory Board, MCTAB. The meeting is being held at the Port of Allyn.
CMF&EMS Board Meets Wednesday Afternoon
The Board of Commissioners for Central Mason Fire & EMS (Mason County Fire District 5) meets at 4 PM Wednesday afternoon. The Fire Commissioners meet at the Shelton Fire Hall, corner of Franklin and 2nd.
NMSB Meets Thursday Night
The North Mason School Board is holding their regular business meeting Thursday night at 6:30 PM. The School Board members are holding a work/study session at 6:10 PM to discuss the board’s policy playbook. Both meetings will be held at the District’s Administration Building, 71 E. Campus Drive in Belfair.
