The Sequim boys’ basketball team remained perfect on the season knocking off North Mason Friday night (12/9/11) 56 to 27.
The Wolves hit nine three-pointers in the game and held the Bulldogs to single digit scoring in each quarter. Sequim was led by Evan Hill who four 3’s and finished with 19 points. Alex Barry also hit four triples and added 14 points. The Wolves’ top scorers, Corbin Webb was held to nine points and Jason Brockleby had seven. For the boys from Belfair, Anthony Price led the way with eight points while Anthony Henderson chipped in six. Sequim improved to 5-and-0 on the season. North Mason dropped to 0-and-4. The Bulldogs travel to Rainier Christian Saturday (12/10) while the Wolves head to Bremerton Monday.
The Sequim girls’ basketball team picked up their first win of the season by beating North Mason Friday 57 to 45. The Lady Wolves were led by Haleigh Harrison’s 17 points and Alexas Besand’s 14. The Lady Bulldogs got ten points each from Jennifer Hicks and Julie Johnson. Sequim is now 1-and-3 and host Bremerton Monday. The girls from Belfair remain winless in three games this season and head to Kingston Monday.
The Central Kitsap basketball teams beat Shelton Friday night. The boys won 69 to 47 while the Lady Cougars took it to the Highclimbers 69 to 18. The CK boys had three players with 14 points each: Ty Luna, Michael Thomas, and Kericho Cory. TheSheltonboys got 13 points from Dakota Andrews. On the girls’ side, the Cougars’ Krista Stabler had 18 and Carly Hoisington chipped in 11. The Lady-‘Climbers’ high scorer was Clara Robbins who had four points.Central Kitsapboys are now 3-and-2 while the Lady Cougars are 5-and-1. BothSheltonteams remain winless on the season in four games. The CK girls play at Olympic Monday while the Cougar boys’ next game is Wednesday at GigHarbor. The Shelton girls host Peninsula Monday while the Highclimber boys are atSouth Kitsap Wednesday.
The Mary M. Knight basketball teams split their games with Three Rivers Christian. The Lady Owls knocked off the Lady Eagles 43 to 22 while the boys’ game was much closer with Three Rivers winning 61 to 57. Hannah Frost led the girls from Matlock with 17 points while the boys had three players in double figures: Shawn Sexton with 15, Cory O’Neil with 13, and Nick Dierkop had 10. Both Owl teams travel to Mount Rainier Lutheran Saturday 12/10/11.
