A 57-year-old woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 101 north of Brinnon Wednesday morning. According to the State Patrol, Marilyn J. Smith was southbound on 101 in a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer about 8:30 AM. At milepost 304, which is two miles north of Brinnon, the Blazer left the roadway to the right, traveled in the ditch and struck a culvert abutment. The SUV then became airborne over a driveway, struck the ditch again and came to rest facing southbound. Smith was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
