The Shelton football team knocked off North Thurston Thursday night 38 to 21. The Highclimbers jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead and were up by 21 in the second quarter all on rushing touchdowns from Colton Paller. The Rams did score two TDs before halftime and the teams headed to the locker room with the score Shelton 21, North Thurston 14. In the third quarter, Shelton added a 31-yard Cody Bragg field goal and Paller had his fourth TD of the night giving the ‘Climbers a 31 to 14 lead heading into the fourth. NT scored on their first drive in the final quarter but Shelton’s Tyler Giraldes answered making the final score 38-21.
The win improves the Highclimbers’ record to 4-and-3 overall, 3-and-2 in the 3A Narrows League. It also moves Shelton ahead of the Rams in the standings.
The Highclimbers return home next Friday to face Mt. Tahoma. Next week’s homecoming game will be streamed live on MasonWebTV.com and Hood Canal Communications’ HCC.net.
