empty bowlsThe Shelton Arts Commission is pleased to announce the dates for the 12th annual Empty Bowls project, a three night creative effort to fight hunger. Last year the event raised nearly $1,200 for The Saint’s Pantry Food Bank.

On the first night, March 2, participant’s hand-build one of a kind ceramic bowls. All materials and instructions are provided for all ages and abilities. The event, held at the Shelton Civic Center from 5:00-7:00PM, is free to everyone.

The second night, March 9, participants will glaze and decorate the bowls. This is again a free event for any participant. Extra bowls will be available to those that were not able to participate in the first night. The event will be at the Shelton Civic Center from 5:00-7:00PM.

Empty Bowls is culminated on the third night, March 16, when all the bowls will be on display and available to be taken home for a $10.00 donation. With that donation four participating restaurants; Olympic Bakery & Deli, Sisters Restaurant, The Strip Steak House, and Xinh’s Clam and Oyster House will provide a delicious bowl of soup and bread. ALL proceeds go to The Saint’s Pantry Food Bank.

Empty Bowls dates to remember:

  • March 2th 5-7pm Create a bowl. Come create bowls at the Shelton Civic Center.
  • March 9th 5-7pm Glaze your bowl. Come glaze (decorate) bowls at the Shelton Civic Center.
  • March 16th 5-7pm Soup & Bread at the Shelton Civic Center. Make a donation of ten dollars, choose a bowl to keep and have soup and bread from one of the participating restaurants… Olympic Bakery & Deli, Sisters Restaurant, The Strip Steak House, and Xinh’s Clam and Oyster House
