Reminder: the City of Shelton is holding a meet and greet with the finalist for Administrator Wednesday night.

city of shelton logo color smallThe City of Shelton is currently in the process of hiring a new City Administrator. The applicants to be interviewed have been selected and the City of Shelton is pleased to announce the following qualified finalists to be interviewed for the new City of Shelton Administrator. The interviews will take place June 9, 2016, all day, preceded by a “meet and greet” at the Civic Center on June 8, 2016, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Candidates for City Administrator

Benjamin Marchant has four years in a current position as City Manager of Coquille, Oregon, and previous municipal experience in Idaho, Missouri, and California. Mr. Marchant is looking to make a good career move and get a little closer to a metro area. Benjamin has a MPA and is an ICMA-Credentialed Manager.

Lawrence Uri has worked eight years as the City Manager in a town of 5,000 in Kansas. He would like to move to be closer to family who live in Washington and Oregon. Mr. Uri has experience in working toward the revitalization of the commercial core of Concordia, Kansas. Lawrence holds a Juris Doctorate degree.

Ryan Wheaton is currently a manager at Pierce Transit. He has a personal connection to Shelton in that he is a graduate of Shelton High School and has relatives who still live in the area. He would like to come home and help be a part of the team that creates a new vision for Shelton and would like to successfully implement that vision. Ryan holds a MBA.

Steve Goins is the current Community and Economic Development Director with the City of Shelton. Steve also oversaw the Public Works Department for three years. He is familiar with the community and the Commission form of government. Steve believes that his ten years with the City would allow him to have a positive impact as the City Administrator. Steve has a BS degree in Environmental Science.

Adam Lincoln has three years of City experience as Assistant to the City Manager in Lakewood, WA. He is an active member of ICMA and WCCMA and is looking for an opportunity to be the leader. He believes that Shelton has some challenges and he would like to be able to help resolve some by building a strong, diversified economy.
