Shelton Girls’ Basketball Open Season with Win

The Shelton girls’ basketball team opened the 2016-2017 season with a 52 to 41 win over Mt. Tahoma in a game that was on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.

The Highclimbers took advantage of T-Birds turnovers in the fourth quarter and pulled away in the close, back and forth game. Shelton was led by Jordyn Peterson by scoring 17 points. Timber Ware added 14 points. Katie Johnson and Paige Johnson each scored 5 points. Decheiyg Littlesun chipped in 4 points. Jasmine Griffin hit a three pointer. And Morgan Leach and Lexi Moon each make a bucket.

Mt. Tahoma was led in the loss by Nini Figuracion’s 19 points.

Shelton’s next game is Saturday at Hoquiam.
