Two wrestlers from Mason County came away with championship at the HammerHead Invitational over the weekend. Shelton’s Quinn Lacy won the 190-pound classification on the girls’ side of the tournament while North Mason’s Nico Ramirez won the 285-pound classification.

The Bulldogs’ Colton Hammon placed 2nd at 106 pounds while Jahrett Schiemer was 6th at 138 pounds.

The Highclimbers’ Isaac Willis was 6th at 127 pounds.

In the girls’ tourney, North Mason’s Phillipa Montejo tied for 4th at 125 pounds; Kira Shwerzler tied for 6th at 130 pounds while Shelton’s Keva Upson tied for 6th at 130 pounds.

In team scoring, the Bulldogs placed 13th while the Highclimbers were 31st among the 86 teams and over 700 wrestlers who competed Friday and Saturday.
