The State Patrol is investigating what caused a 2005 Chrysler Sebring to strike a tree on Highway 3 north of Allyn Sunday evening that injured one person. According to a press memo, the car was southbound about 6:15 PM. At milepost 21.9, near Homestead Drive, the driver lost control. The Sebring crossed the northbound lane and struck a tree. The highway was blocked for more than three and a half hours.
The driver, Vanessa M. Lopez, 20 of Bremerton, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
There was a six-month old baby in the car who was not injured.
