The unemployment rate in Mason County dropped slightly in November. The State Employment Security Department says the County’s unemployment rate last month was 7.4%. That’s down two-tenths of a percentage point from October’s revised rate of 7.6% but two-tenths higher than November 2015’s rate of 7.2%.
Adjacent counties saw similar decreases in unemployment in November with the exception of Lewis County which saw an increase of one-tenth of a percent to 7.7%. Kitsap (5.5%) and Pierce (5.8%) counties decreased three-tenths of a percent. Jefferson (7.3%) and Thurston (5.6%) dropped two-tenths. And there was a one-tenth percent decrease in Grays Harbor County to 8.4%.
