CONSTRUCTION
SR 3 – Belfair Area – Widening and Safety Improvements
Highway: SR 3 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 25.3 to 27
Description: This widening project will extend the center turn lane and provide paved shoulders and sidewalks on both sides of SR 3. The improvements are intended to be built in two separate stages.

Work schedule: Drivers can expect one-lane alternating traffic with flaggers each weeknight from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
SR 302 – N of E Victor Rd – Culvert Replacement
Highway: SR 302 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 4.5
Description: Crews will replace two failing culverts and install infrastructure to help stabilize the highway.

Work schedule: This project remains on standby due to weather. Work requires seven consecutive days of dry weather.
MAINTENANCE
Highway: SR 3 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 3 to 8.5
Description: Utility crews will conduct vegetation management. Drivers can expect alternating one-way traffic.
Work Schedule: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each weekday through Jan. 27 excluding Monday, Jan. 16.
Highway: US 101 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 343.8 to 344
Description: Utility crews will install infrastructure. Drivers can expect shoulder closures in both directions and alternating one-way traffic as needed.
Work Schedule: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday through Jan. 20 excluding Jan. 16.
Highway: SR 106 Region: Olympic County: Pierce Location: Milepost(s) 5.7
Description: Utility crews will remove infrastructure. Drivers can expect one-way alternating traffic.
Work schedule: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18.
Highway: SR 8 Region: Olympic County: Thurston Location: Milepost(s) 17.1 to 19.8
Description: Crews will install guardrail and rumble strips.
Work schedule: No scheduled traffic impacts.
Tips for Driving Through Work Zones
- Pay attention – Driver inattention is the number one cause of work zone accidents.
- Leave room between you and the car ahead of you – Most work zone accidents involve someone running into the car ahead of them. Drive defensively – be aware of what is happening around you.
- Merge before you reach the work zone.
- Don’t use cell phones or adjust your radio while driving through the work zone.
