Saturday’s events to support Mason County students ended with a rally and 49 pallets of food, supplies and clothing collected at Walmart and Fred Meyer stores. Organizers of Fill the Truck 2 joined forces with Citizen’s for Shelton Schools, Shelton Kiwanis and other community groups to
bring awareness and support for the 400 students countywide who are considered homeless.
Several other fundraising events were held at Shelton High School including a pancake breakfast, a barbecue and a talent show: Shelton’s Got Talent.
The Shelton School District held tours of the high school and Mt. View Elementary which showed residents the need for an addition to the high school and a new Mt. View. The District is asking voters to approve a $64.8 Million construction bond. Ballots for that election have been mailed to voters.

After the rally, the Taylor Shellfish trucks full of donations we taken to Lynch Creek Farms and unloaded. Volunteers spent Sunday sorting and organizing the donations.
