The 4th Annual Chris Boelk Memorial Softball Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 24 at the Mason County Recreation Area in Shelton. Registration is now open for this men’s, SuperDraft style tournament.
Registration is $40 per person; all players who enter by May 1 will be entered in a drawing for $100 cash. To register or to make a donation, visit www.cb45tournament.com.
All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Christopher Allen Boelk Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund was established by Chris’s family after he passed away in 2006 and, in 2014, Chris’s friends created the tournament as a way to perpetuate Chris’s legacy of kindness and athleticism – raising additional monies. Awards are made annually to a deserving Highclimber football player graduating from SHS. The past recipients are: Tanner Rhodes & Gabe Reyna (2016); Jake Henry & Brian Nault (2015); Gordon Henry (2014); Clarke “CD” Hinkle (2010); and Jonathan Jacob Hanes (2008).
Tournament director Brett Kilmer said, “This event is just one way for us to honor Chris’s memory. He was a great athlete and an awesome friend. Chris had a way of touching the lives of everyone he came across in life and this tournament is our way of making sure he continues to have an impact on this community.”
Tournament sponsorships are also available. For more information about the Boelk Memorial Tournament, visit www.cb45tournament.com or email [email protected].
