Mason County Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactical Team responded to Shorecrest Wednesday to what turned out to be a hoax. According to authorities, a man called 9-1-1 about 5 PM and said he had shot people – specifically an officer and his wife. SWAT was called to the scene and law enforcement determined the call was false. The caller was taken into custody after initially refusing to come out of his house. He did give up after a brief delay and the officers were clear of the scene within 30 minutes.
