Officials with Timberland Regional Library celebrated the re-opening of the Hoodsport Library Saturday. The library was closed for a month earlier this year to replace floor joists and carpeting, and for the installation of a new information desk, a seated bar for patrons with portable electronic devices that faces Hood Canal, new shelving and more eco-friendly lighting. The current library building was brought to Hoodsport from Belfair on a barge. Gordon Earsley, former member of the Friends of the Library and library employee who passed away recently, was instrumental in making that relocation possible. Mr. Earsley was also recognized Saturday.
The Hoodsport Timberland Library is located at 40 N. Schoolhouse Hill Road in Hoodsport and is opens 10 AM to 5 PM Tuesday & Wednesday, 10 AM to 6 PM Thursday and 10 AM to 4 PM Saturday.
