Every summer, Taylor Shellfish holds a series of shellfish seed sales for those waterfront property owners who wish to grow and harvest their own shellfish. This year, Taylor has launched a website specifically dedicated to their seed sales: www.shellfishseed.com.
According to the site, the seed sales have grown to become very popular, this will shorten your wait time on the day of the seed sale and allow the company to full fill the order you placed online before you arrive.
Seed will become available for online purchase on Monday, May 22nd, beginning at 10 am for the May 27th Shelton pick-up. You will be able to choose clam, oyster, mussel and geoduck seed and all necessary gear. On May 27th, from 8 am -11 am, pickup will be held at the Taylor Shellfish Farms headquarters in Shelton (130 Lynch Rd).
Much like in the past, there will be experts on site to answer any farming related questions. And there will be a limited amount of seed held over for purchase if you are unable to make your purchase online.
Taylor Shellfish says they will follow this same system with each of their five seed sales this summer. The seed will be available for online purchase at 10am the Monday before the Saturday pick-up date. The new website has the information you will need about pricing, how to plant, what gear to purchase with seed and much more.
