The Shelton School District Board of Directors invites individuals to apply for the open Director District #2 school board position. The term of the appointment runs until November 2019, unless an individual files for the open position with the Mason County Elections Department during their special 3-day filing period on June 20-22, 2017. If an individual files for the position during the special filing period they would be on the November 2017 ballot and would fill the 2-year unexpired term through November 2019. The individual appointed would fill the position just until the November 2017 election. Interested individuals are encouraged to file during the open filing period.

The Shelton School Board Director District #2 position was most recently held by Ginger Seslar who resigned from the board in April. In May, Brian Major filed for the seat during candidate filing week. However. Major withdrew from the race on May 22nd.

To be eligible, applicants must reside within Director District #2. Those interested in serving may check boundary descriptions to verify eligibility by contacting the Mason County Elections Office at 427-9760 ext. 470. Applications are available on-line at www.sheltonschools.org or at the Shelton School District Administrative Services Building located at 700 S. 1st St. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, June 23, 2017.
