The North Mason Relay for Life held its opening ceremony Friday as the rain fell on Sand Hill Ball Fields in Belfair. This year’s theme is “Hit Cancer Out of the Park!” Keeping with that theme, former Major League Baseball pitcher, Doug Sisk, spoke during the Relay’s opening ceremony.

Sisk played nine years in the Majors with the New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves; winning the World Series with each club. In his career as a relief pitcher, Sisk allowed only 15 home runs in over 500 innings pitched.
