Shelton’s City Manager, Ryan Wheaton, has resigned effective the end of this month. The Shelton City Commission accepted his resignation Tuesday night.

In his letter of resignation, Wheaton called the position leading the City the past 17 months “the greatest honor” of his career, “the opportunity of a lifetime” and an “incredibly rewarding challenge.”

Wheaton told MasonWebTV Powered by HCC the timing seemed right.

The City’s attorney will prepare a separation agreement that will include nine months compensation and three months coverage of medical insurance. The City Commission is expected to select an interim City Manager in the coming weeks while they search for someone to fill the City’s top leadership position.
