Safety Reminder from Olympic National Forest

Officials with the Olympic National Forest has a safety reminder: Watch for high water around the peninsula this week and be alert.

Don’t drive through flowing water. It doesn’t look too deep on Skokomish Valley Road but it is flowing FAST. Water like this can push a car off the road.

Danger: falling rocks. There is a lot of water coming off the cliffs along Forest Road 24 at Lake Cushman with several waterfalls between the Mt. Rose Trail Head and the causeway. With increased water flowing down these steep cliffs the danger of falling rocks is high.
