Sharon Trask announced Friday she will run for Mason County Commissioner District 3, the seat currently held by Terri Drexler. Earlier this week, Drexler said she will not seek re-election this fall.

Trask currently works as a Legislative Assistance to a member of leadership in the State House of Representatives. She and her husband, Ted, moved to Mason County in 2004, own a small business and she sits on the board for Turning Pointe.

In her formal announcement, Trask said she wants to focus on recruiting employers to Mason County and providing the proper tools to first responders. Trask also says during her time in Olympia she has worked directly with countless state agencies, non-profits and the Federal Government, building valued relationships.

The official candidate filing period for this fall’s election begins May 14th. The Primary Election is August 7th. The General Election is November 6th.
