State Highway Construction 6/9 to 6/15
The following is a summary of road construction and maintenance scheduled on state highways around Mason County and adjacent areas from June 9, 2019 to June 15, 2019.
US 101 – Coffee Creek – Remove Fish Barrier
Highway: SR 3 Region: Olympic County: Kitsap Location: Milepost(s) 346.8
Description: Crews will realign a portion of Coffee Creek in order to remove barriers to fish. This project also will rebuild the southbound exit to Shelton-Matlock Road.
Work Schedule: Work is anticipated to start mid-June. The majority of the work will have little affect on travelers.
Highway: SR 3 Region: Olympic County: Kitsap Location: Milepost(s) 35.3
Description: Short-term lane single-lane closures in each direction for utility work.
Work Schedule: 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 10-14, until 4 a.m. each following day.
Highway: SR 8 Region: Olympic County: Grays Harbor Location: Milepost(s) 4 to 11.5
Description: Single lane closure in both directions for pavement repairs.
Work Schedule: 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 10 through Wednesday, June 12.
Highway: US 101 Region: Olympic County: Jefferson Location: Milepost(s) 292.7 to 293.6
Description: Single lane and shoulder closure has utility crews for Jefferson Couny PUD conduct routine vegetation management.
Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday beginning Tuesday, May 28 through Monday, June 10.
US 101 – Old Gardiner Rd to N of W Uncas Rd – Paving and Bridge Deck Repair
Highway: US 101 Region: Olympic County: Jefferson Location: Milepost(s) 275.8 to 283.9
Description: Drivers can expect one-way alternating traffic during overnight hours as crews repave nearly 8 miles of US 101 from east of the Clallam-Jefferson County line to north of the US 101/SR 104 interchange. Travelers can expect overnight, single lane closures each weekday through late summer until work is complete. During the overnight closures, drivers will follow a pilot car through the work zone. Work Schedule: During construction, travelers will encounter overnight single lane closures with a pilot car from 8 p.m. each Monday through Friday night to 9 a.m. the following day until project completion. This week, crews will be addressing final striping and rumble strips along the highway while pavement cures. This operation is weather-sensitive and could be rescheduled.
SR 302 – E of Elgin Clifton Rd to SR 16 – Remove Fish Barriers, Paving and ADA Compliance
Highway: 302 Region: Olympic County: Pierce Location: Milepost(s) 10.8 to 16.9
Description: This project removes and replaces three fish barrier culverts under SR 302 with fish passable structures and repaves nearly 7 miles of highway along with ADA improvements for bicyclists and pedestrians.
Work Schedule: During construction, drivers should expect daytime lane and shoulder closures, extended weekend closures, extended on- and off-ramp closures and up to a full, weeklong closure of the Purdy Spit for deck repairs. Project webpage.
Mox Chehalis Road Bridge Replacement
Highway: Mox Chehalis Road (south of SR 8 near McCleary) Region: Olympic County: Grays Harbor Location: Milepost(s) 7.8 to 7.9
