A 26-year-old Shelton man was injured when his truck struck a tree on State Route 302 near Rocky Bay.

The Washington State Patrol says the 1998 Ford Ranger westbound on SR302 at a high rate of speed. About 6 PM, the truck crossed the center line in a curve and struck a tree on the eastbound shoulder at milepost 5 which is near the Pierce County Line and Rocky Point.
The driver was transported to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
The Trooper’s report indicates that speed was a contributing factor in this crash.
