An Allyn man was injured in a three-vehicle crash in Gorst Monday afternoon.

According to a Washington State Patrol press memo, a 1995 Nissan Maxima, a 2018 Subaru Impreza and a 2016 Chevrolet pickup truck were southbound on State Route 3 about 2 PM. The pickup and Subaru stopped for a red light at Sam Christopherson Road in Gorst. However, the Nissan failed to stop in time and struck the rear of the Subaru which pushed it into the rear of the truck.

An 87-year-old Allyn man who was a passenger in the Subaru was transported by aid car to Bremerton Harrison Hospital.

The driver of the Subaru, a 54-year-old Belfair woman, the driver of the Chevy, a 65-year-old Belfair man, and the driver of the Nissan, a 42-year-old Port Orchard man, were not injured.

The press memo indicates that the cause of this crash was inattention and following too close on the part of the Port Orchard man.
