SHS softball & tennis win, baseball loses; NM soccer ties, tennis loses

 

The Shelton fastpitch softball team crushed Mount Tahoma Monday 20 to 0 in five innings Monday. The Highclimbers pounded out 15 hits led by Kelsi Albaugh who was 3-for-3 at the plate. Jordan Krumpols went 2-for-3 and hit a home run. Kylie Schnitzer was 3-for-5. And Lynae Brown went 2-for-4. Shelton’s Morgan Mitchell picked up the win allowing only two hits. The Lady-‘Climbers are now 2-and-3 on the season, 1-and-2 in the Narrows League. They host Central Kitsap Wednesday – weather permitting.

 

The Shelton girls’ tennis team slipped by Central Kitsap Monday 3 to 2. The Highclimbers’ doubles teams of Clara Robbins and Allison Hunter, Desiree Klokkevold and Yemas Li, Serena Ranney and Meghan Ranney posted victories.

 

The Shelton baseball team game up nine runs in the third inning and lost to Central Kitsap 11 to 6 Monday. The Highclimbers had a 4-0 lead after two innings but the Cougars got to starter Forest Putterbaugh after that. Shelton is still winless in seven games so far this season. The ‘Climbers travel to Central Kitsap Wednesday.

 

The North Mason and Kingston boys’ soccer teams played to a 3-3 tie Monday night. The Bulldogs’ Colin Ralston scored all three of their goals, the last two on free kicks as the boys from Belfair rallied and pulled even against the Buccaneers. North Mason is now 3-2-and-1 on the season. The Bulldogs next match is April 10 when they travel to Sequim.

 

In girls’ tennis, North Kitsap 5 North Mason 2. Winning for Bulldogs were the doubles teams of Lexi Zevnick and Katrina Martin, and Emma Urdahl and Kristi Rieker. The girls from Belfair host Port Angeles Wednesday.
