The flood watch remains in effect for the Skokomish River. The National Weather Service says heavy rain fell over the Olympic Mountains below about 3500 feet overnight and more rain is expected this morning. Two to four inches of rain was forecast and the high end of this range is typically enough to bring the River to flood stage. According to forecasters, minor flooding is possible as the Skokomish is predicted to crest at just over the 16.5-foot flood stage, maybe 16.7 feet, about 5 PM today.

Rain is expected through the weekend and beyond. There may be some wind today as there is high wind warning on the coast, a wind advisory for the north Puget Sound area, and small craft advisory for the waters of the Puget Sound and Hood Canal. Look for more snow in the mountains as well.
