Mason County’s unemployment rate rose in June. Washington State Department of Employment Security says the County’s unemployment rate last month was 6.4 percent, up four-tenths of a percentage point from May’s revised rate of 6 percent but 5.1 percent lower than June 2020’s rate of 11.5 percent.

Adjacent counties counties also saw increases with Grays Harbor (7.4%) going up three-tenths of a percent; Jefferson (5.8%) and Pierce (5.6%) showing increases of two-tenths; and Kitsap (4.6%) and Thurston counties up only one-tenth of a percent.
