Three people were flown to a Seattle hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Belfair Tahuya Road at Hurd Road Thursday night.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a Subaru was northbound on Belfair Tahuya Road about 10 PM. At the intersection with Hurd Road, the Subaru crossed the center line and struck a southbound Nissan.

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to the crash but due to three serious injuries, requested State Patrol Technicians to help with the investigation.

The driver of the Subaru, a 36-year-old Tahuya man, the driver of the Nissan, a 50-year-old McCleary man, and a passenger in the Nissan, a 32-year-old McCleary woman, were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

A press memo indicates speed was a contributing factor in this crash but the investigation continues.
