Mason County Public Health confirmed one death and reported 39 new cases of COVID-19 in the County on Thursday, February 17, 2022. This data covers two days: February 14th and February 15th. The latest death, a man in his 60’s, increases the total of Mason County residents to die from coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic to 125.

At last report, there are five resident hospitalized with COVID-19.

Latest Case Rates from Mason County Public Health:
7-day case rate per 100,000 population: 985.5, down from Tuesday’s reported rate of 1,075.4.
14-day case rate per 100,000 population: 2,071.6, down from Tuesday’s reported rate of 2,146.2.

According to health officials, the County’s vaccination rate remained at 57.4 percent.

This information is gathered from the Washington State Department of Health data dashboard. DOH is now updating the dashboard on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. As a result of this change from DOH, Mason County Public Health will release new numbers on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Monday will be data from the state reported on Friday. Tuesday will be numbers from Monday. And on Thursday, the data will be from Wednesday.

Next report will be released at 4 PM Tuesday as Monday is a holiday.
