The first Rural Community Resource Fair is Wednesday afternoon the Collins Lake Fire Station.

More than two dozen agencies will be bringing access, awareness and educational information to remote corners of Mason County and the event is starting at North Mason Regional Fire Authority’s Station 27 (60 NE Collins Lake Drive). Everyone is welcome to attend between 2 PM and 4 PM.
Here are some the agencies and organizations that will be at Wednesday’s Rural Community Resource Fair:
- Behavioral Health Resources
- Coastal Community Action Program- Medical Transportation and Employment Navigation
- Community Lifeline- Homeless shelter
- Crossroads Housing- Housing, Rental Assistance and Family Shelter
- Disabled American Veterans Chapter. 22- Assistance to Veterans and their families for county, state and VA benefits
- Family Education Support Services- Parenting classes, kinship support, peer support etc.
- Lewis Mason Thurston- Area Agency on Aging- Connects anyone over 60 and/or with a permanent disability to community supports and services
- Mason County Public Health- Youth substance abuse prevention, Access to baby dentistry
- Molina Healthcare- Apple Health Insurance and Medicare
- Mason Transit Authority- Free bus services
- National Alliance on Mental Illness- Mental health advocacy, support, education and awareness
- New Directions Counseling- Outpatient SUD treatment, evaluations, referrals, individual and group counseling
- Northwest Resources- Intensive case management, treatment options etc.
- Olympic Health and Recovery Services- Peer counseling for mental health and SUD, case management and resource navigation.
- Olympic College- Higher education, adult-based education
- Peninsula Community Health Services- Medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy services.
- Peninsula Credit Union- Banking and money management basics
- PUD 3- Conservation and customer service, programs and incentives
- Senior Services for South Sound- Senior nutrition program, congregate and home delivered meals
- The Arc- Classes on healthy relationships, emotional, financial and nutritional health, representative payee services, community inclusion, and parent coalition
- The HUB Center for Seniors- Senior center, medical equipment, meals, clothing, classes and other needs
- Turning Pointe Survivor Advocacy Center- Shelter for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors
- Worksource- Provides employment and training services to job seekers and employers
- Youth Connection- Provides a safe place for young people to connect to resources, access supplies and have fun
- Crazy Love Ministries- Food boxes/meals
Organizers hope to host similar events in Hoodsport, Matlock and Kamilche throughout the year.
