Travelers on State Route 106 between Belfair and Union should prepare for an upcoming extended closure of the roadway.

From 7 a.m. Monday, July 10 to 4 a.m. Sunday, July 30, SR 106 will close to traffic at Twanoh State Park. During the around-the-clock closure, emergency responders will have access through the work zone.

A signed detour will direct traffic around the closure onto US 101 and SR 3 through Shelton.

The closure will allow contractor crews to continue its work to remove and replace a barrier to fish at Twanoh Creek. The full closure will reduce the overall timeline of construction and minimize the construction footprint. This type of work in waterways can only be done during certain timeframes in the summer to ensure fish and habitat aren’t unduly disturbed.
