A motorcycle crash north of the Bremerton Airport Friday night took the life of a Silverdale man.

The Washington State Patrol the motorcycle was northbound on State Route 3 at a high rate of speed just before 8 PM. The motorcyclist illegally passed multiple vehicles, striking the side mirror of one those cars, before failing to negotiate a curve entering a roundabout. The motorcycle struck the center island which ejected the rider. The motorcyclist came to rest in the northbound median while the bike ended up blocking the northbound lane of Highway 3.

The motorcyclist, identified as Jason D. Martel, 49 of Silverdale, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.

There were two other fatal collisions in the area Friday.
A 60-year-old Port Angeles woman died when here car rolled over on Highway 16 at the interchange with southbound Interstate 5.
A 33-year-old woman and a 7-year-old boy from Port Hadlock died in a two-vehicle head-on collision on U.S. Highway 101 west of Discovery Bay.
