
Mason PUD 3 announces the appointment of Sheila Corson as the utility’s new Public Information Officer (PIO). In this role, Sheila will be responsible for coordinating all media, public relations, and community engagement efforts. Her extensive experience in public utilities, combined with her passion for community outreach, makes her a valuable addition to our team.
Sheila comes from Okanogan County PUD, where she served as public relations coordinator, bringing valuable insights and expertise to her new role. Previously, she worked at her hometown school district and the local newspaper, gaining a comprehensive understanding of effective communication strategies. Sheila’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Multnomah University and a Master’s degree in Communication from Purdue University.
Mason PUD 3’s Manager, Annette Creekpaum, expressed her enthusiasm about the selection, highlighting the utility’s commitment to community engagement and transparency. Creekpaum stated, “We are proud of the valuable work the PUD does, and this position plays a vital role in maintaining a strong partnership with the community we serve. We are fortunate to have recruited Sheila as our PIO, as she will focus on upholding our commitment to provide accurate and timely information about the critical work of the PUD.”
In her personal life, Sheila is an ardent supporter of the performing arts and music. Recently, her family completed a performance in a community musical, and for nearly two decades, she has played bass with a church music team alongside her husband. Sheila and her family are excited to embrace their new community, immerse themselves in unfamiliar places, and enjoy the beauty of Mason County.
Sheila officially began her duties as the PIO for Mason PUD 3 on June 20, 2023. Effective Aug. 1, she will also serve as the primary media contact for the utility.
