The Mary M. Knight six-man football team wrapped up the regular season Saturday with a 52 to 25 win over Evergreen Lutheran.

The Eagles took advantage of two fumbles on the Owls’ first two possessions and built a 12-0 lead. MMK got on the board in their third possession going 63 yards on one play.

EL added another TD in the second quarter but Mary M. Knight’s defense stopped Evergreen Lutheran on their next two possessions. The Owls’ offense then scored on a 65-yard run late in the first half and the halftime score had the Eagles leading 18 to 12.

MMK took its first lead of the game early in the third quarter, recovering a bad snap in the end zone for a touch down and added the extra point to go up 19 to 18.

Mary M. Knight forced Evergreen Lutheran into another punt and the Owls scored on a 55-yard run increasing their lead to 25 to 18.

Another bad snap on an Eagles’ punt and MMK scored on a 28-yard TD run to lead 31 to 18.

Mary M. Knight’s defense again stopped Evergreen Lutheran. The Owls then went 40 yards on six plays, scoring on a 17-yard run to go up 37 to 18 late in the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, MMK added two touchdowns and EL got one.

Mary M. Knight won their last two games of the season and finished with 2-and-6 overall record, 2-and-5 in the 1B Coastal League.
