The closure of Elfendahl Pass Road has been extended to Friday, March 1st. The road was closed on February 5th for a clear zone project between Mason County Public Works and Washington State Department of Natural Resources. The closures is from the intersection with Belfair Tahuya Road (milepost 1.85) to the ORV Staging Area (milepost 4.20). The road was originally scheduled to reopen on February 19th but that reopening was pushed back giving crews more time to complete the work. Mason County Public Works says Elfendahl Pass Road is scheduled to reopen at approximately 4:30 PM on Friday, March 1, 2024.
Detour signs will continue to guide local residence and emergency vehicles around on the closure using Bear Creek Dewatto Road to Old Belfair Highway.
