Hoops Wins for SHS Girls & NM Boys; Hoops Losses for NM Girls & MMK Girls

The Shelton girls’ basketball team knocked off Centralia Friday 43 to 31.

The Highclimbers held the Tigers to two points in the first quarter on their way to a 16-point halftime lead (24 to 8). The ‘Climbers built a 19-point lead in the third quarter holding off a Centralia run which got the Tigers to within nine points, but couldn’t get any closer.

Shelton was led by Janelle Krise (pictured above) who scored a game-high 22 points and 9 rebounds. Cedar Wily (pictured right) added 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Centralia freshman guard Maddie Ahern had 11 points.

The Highclimbers improved to 13-and-5 on the season, 6-and-2 in the Evergreen Conference, maintaining second place in the standings.

The North Mason boys’ basketball team rallied from 12 points down to force overtime and hold on to beat North Kitsap 75 to 73 Friday. In the extra period, the Bulldogs were able to go up seven points but the Vikings closed to one. Derek Dunham them made one of two free throws and NM stopped NK on their final possession to pull out the victory.
Cameron Revelez led North Mason in scoring with 28 points (12 in the fourth and 6 in OT). Andrew Littrean added 25 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bulldogs improved to 9-and-9 on the season, 6-and-6 in the Olympic League. NM is fourth in the standings with three games left. North Mason plays at Klahowya Saturday, hosts Bainbridge Tuesday, and wraps up the regular season at Olympic Thursday.


The North Mason girls’ basketball team lost at North Kitsap Friday 40 to 35. Specific details on the game were not available. The Bulldogs drop to 11-and-6 on the season, 8-and-4 in the Olympic League, now in fourth place in the standings with three games to go. NM is scheduled to host Capital Monday on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC before playing at Bainbridge Tuesday and wrapping up the regular season Thursday at home against Olympic on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.


The Mary M. Knight girls’ basketball team lost a non-league game Friday at Sound Christian Academy 42 to 37. The Owls were led in the loss by Cloey Fletcher who scored 19 points, had 7 steals, and grabbed 6 rebounds. Hailey Morris added 6 points and 7 rebounds. Mae Nygaard chipped in 5 points and 7 rebounds. And Andiana Ziegler grabbed 11 rebounds. MMK now has a 12-and-6 overall record. With two games left in the regular season, Mary M. Knight is currently fourth in the Coastal League standings. The Owls wrap up at Clallam Bay Monday and at Taholah next Friday.
