Losses for NM & SHS Softball
The North Mason fastpitch softball team could not keep up with Port Angeles Monday, falling 6 to 4.

The Bulldogs got on the board first, getting one run in the first and added another run in the second inning. The Roughriders tied the game at two in the top of the third. NM went up one in the bottom of the third but PA score a run in the fourth and a run in the fifth to take 4 to 3 lead. North Mason tied the game at 4 in the bottom of the sixth inning but Port Angeles took the lead for good in the top of the seventh.
The Roughriders were led in the pitching circle by Heidi Leitz who went four and two-thirds innings in relief, allowing one earned run on three hits, with no walk and 11 strikeouts. Mariah Traband was 2 for 4 at the plate with a triple. Morgan Politika was 3 for 4. Mikkhia Stevens batted in two runs.
The Bulldogs were led in the loss by Adrianna Crowley who was 2 for 3 at the plate. Kennady Carson batted in a run. Sydnie Imlay hit a double. Addyson Roy also hit a double and pitched seven innings, allowing 6 runs (3 earned) on 12 hits and no walks and four strikeouts.
North Mason drops to 6-and-4 on the season 1-and-3 in the Olympic League. The Bulldogs host Sequim Tuesday.
The Shelton fastpitch softball team lost at W.F. West Monday 7 to 1. The Highclimbers scored their run in the first inning on a error. Cassandra Tyler scored that run and hit a double. Hailey Schuffenhauer, Makayla Lee and Paris Mentzer had the ‘Climbers’ other hits. Shelton drops 3-and-9 on the season, 1-and-6 in the Evergreen Conference. The Highclimbers play at Tumwater Wednesday.
